a•pe•riod•ic presents a double portrait concert

Opening for the concert will be a solo set by CLARA DE ASÍS

Our first concert of the season, a double portrait concert featuring two composers working at the intersection of composition and improvisation with interest in focused listening practices:

Gabriela Areal, an Argentinian composer, cellist, and curator of the SAGITAL series, and Clara de Asís, a Spanish composer, percussionist, and sound artist based in France. Juxtaposing mini-portraits of these two and exhibiting their scores in concert, will show similarities and differences in notational, aesthetic, and performance approaches.

We are thrilled that CLARA DE ASÍS will be in residence for the concert, and will perform a solo opening set on the concert.
